Brief Introduction of SPE Offshore Europe

SPE Offshore Europe is the largest upstream oil and gas event outside North America, and is held every two years in Europe’s energy capital of Aberdeen.
At SPE Offshore Europe 2011 there were more than 1,500 exhibiting companies and pavillions representing countries including Brazil, United States, China, Nigeria, Norway, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Austria, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Germany, France, Flanders/Belgium, the Northern Territories of Australia, Finland, Greenland and Malaysia. Major oil and gas operating companies also took part, including Shell, BP, Petrobras, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Statoil, Saudi Aramco, GDF Suez, Centrica, BG Group, DONG, Maersk, Cepsa, ENI, Petronas Carigali, Premier Oil, TAQA, Total, Addax Petroleum and INPEX.
The last conference and exhibition in 2011 achieved an all-time attendance record (31,579 unique attendees, ABC-audited) and saw the largest ever exhibition area, covering a net area of 25,288 square metres (nearly 10% bigger than in 2009). [‘Unique attendees’ - individuals who are counted only once, although visiting on more than one day.] The cumulative figure for total attendance, which counts those visiting and revisiting on more than one occasion, was 48,575, including exhibitors.
